Home is whenever I'm with you!
I am continuing my mushy you tube music video dedications to my husband since Valentine's Day is just around the corner. This is a band I just stumbled upon and I'm currently obsessed with this song. I think of him when I listen to this - it's just a sweet song.
Also, I love how this band managed to make the Ed Sullivan theater in NYC look like a Hootenanny jam in the Ozarks!

Early Spring...a NEW WORLD inspiration
Happy Hump (Wednesday) day!
I know I am dragging my feet this morning too but Friday is almost here - I can almost see it. I think what's helping me put some spring in my step is my EOTD.
I am counting down the days till my next payday - I really want this:
I would never have thought to put these two colors together (silver lilac/golden olive) but because I love Monsieur NARS I will do what he says! I decided to do a little lilac and green pairing. In my version I used the silver lilac side of my Melusine duo and I went with a more light green gold - Chanel Bamboo.
L to R:
Bamboo (lid)
Melusine duo (lilac shade - crease/matte purple - outer v)
MAC Sweet Joy e/s - limited edition (highlight brow bone)
**Layered over TFSI primer**
I know, I'm on a green kick right now. Please bear with me - I don't wear green often and I'm discovering my love for this eye shadow color.

I also used (once again) MAC Golden Lariat MSF and NARS Downtown gloss.
This is not a dupe for the new Spring NARS duo, Nouveau Monde (translates to New World) but my own little inspiration. It's also an exercise for me to make use of shadows I forgot I had (Chanel Bamboo).
This will make Mr. Lex proud - he likes when I'm efficient with my makeup!

Heroine lipstick...
Okay today I tested out one of the new lipsticks from the new Wonder Woman/MAC collaboration collection for Spring.
I really love the red star on the tube - sorry, I'm a packaging whore.
So like I mentioned yesterday, the frost formula usually dries my lips so I made sure I had my tube of Kiehl's lip balm on hand. This seemed to do the trick - as my lipstick wore on I didn't feel any tightness on my lips. I still felt that the frostiness was beginning to wear me. I think its just because I'm not use to this much frostiness - fine glitter yes, but metallic looking frost? Not so much. However, I was pleasantly surprised:
I paired this with MAC Hover lip pencil. Hover is described as a Rich Caramel Brown on the website but on me it pulls a bit red/terracotta. It works well with Heroine.
As for my eyes, I went with an Army/Olive green theme:
I used UD 24/7 Glide Eye Pencil on my lids and smudged with my finger. I also smudged this with my #219 pencil brush on my bottom lashline. On top of that I layered Chanel's Vert Khaki on the lid, NARS Nepal was applied to my crease and MAC Arena applied to the brow bone. I finished with MAC Haute and Naughty Black mascara.
Swatch line up:
(NC42)
L to R:
Heroine Lipstick
Hover Lip Pencil (both MAC)
UD 24/7 Glide Eye Pencil Stash (dark golden green)
Chanel Vert Khaki (dark olive green w/slight golden sheen)
NARS Nepal (champagne/rose gold)
MAC Arena (soft gold peach)
I used the Golden Lariat MSF on my cheeks. Yes, I realize I owe you guys a review on that product.
I am a BAD BLOGGER...

I guess I will be keeping this lipstick!

In Your Satin Tights...Fighting For Your Rights
I didn't know much about Wonder Woman, the television series because I was about 4 yrs old during the last year of it's three year run. I knew the basics - she was an Amazon Princess, she had an alter ego - Diana Prince and she fought Nazi's and the title of this post is actually part of the Wonder Woman theme song.
She had awesome accessories - bullet deflecting bracelets, a boomerang headband, the lasso of truth and she drove around in an invisible jet. Then I started watching the Super Friends cartoon and learned a whole lot more about her:
That lasso of truth would have been handy on a few ex-boyfriends of my past! The actress that played her Lynda Carter was stunning and at 61, she still is! I just remember how much I wanted to look like her when I grew up.
Also, this will change when I got a little older and saw Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High...more on her another day!
Okay so what could drag me out of my warm home and make me miss story time with my mini-cupcake? I attended the MAC/Wonder Woman collaboration event at the PRO Store on Union Street, SF. It was a mad house - it took me an hour just to look for parking! The last time I attended one of these parties was for the Fafi collection about three years ago and I was pregnant.
I am so glad I wasn't pregnant at this event:
It was insane and I don't want to tell you how long I had to wait in line just to buy two items.
The JUMBO sized MSF Powders: Golden Lariat (top) and Pink Power (bottom). These bad boys are double the size to the standard MSF (20g/.70 oz vs 10g/.35 oz). With size comes with a price hike - Jumbo MSF is $35 and Jumbo blush $24.
(faint) Blush Swatches on NC42 skin:
The palettes from top to bottom - Defiance (pink theme), Lady Justice (blue theme), Valiant (army green theme) ($40)
Opulashes: Black, Themyscira (blue), Army of Amazons (green), and Victorious (purple) - $15

For full color reviews please see Karen's review and her hilarious comic homage to Wonder Woman, herself. I wanted to swatch more colors but there was so many people in this store and just so much product, I was completely overwhelmed and my minor Adult A.D.D. just went into overdrive!!
Please meet the two hardest working men in the room that helped calmed my nerves:
This is Winston and he brought me these:

Just me, I guess.

Overall,
I wasn't completely smitten with this collection. I just felt that I have seen this all before. I even like the packaging. I am a huge eyeliner girl and I wasn't pleased that the only eyeliner in this collection was the Jumbo sized Penultimate Eye Liner (black). Because I was somewhat underwhelmed I walked away with just two items:Heroine lipstick and Golden Lariat MSF powder:
I am loving this MSF - I have used it all last week. I have a review on this coming soon. I still need to test this lipstick. I don't have the best luck with the Frost finish lipsticks so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this. I think the main reason I bought this shade was for sentimental reasons - it reminded me of a shade I wore when I was 24.
I had a Fetish moment:
Brown with copper shimmer - I probably worn this with Chestnut lipliner. And I'm sure my lips were lined heavily! Is anyone else disturbed by this crotch shot of Wonder Woman on the lipstick box?

Beauty Rewind 2/6
I am not trying to think about Monday being just a few hours away. So the nachos I made and the beers I am drinking with my husband are helping - Superbowl Sunday. I am rooting for the Packers - I'm not from Green Bay or a true fan but I do know that quarterback, Aaron Rodgers is a NorCal boy that grew up rooting for the 49ers/Joe Montana and Steve Young so I gotta root for him! That halftime show was just awful - it like a Black Eye Peas mini-concert. Sorry but I'm not a huge fan of theirs and I was really pissed when I heard Fergie singing my favorite Guns n'Roses song, "Sweet Child O'Mine" - oh my ears just cried in pain.
Lucky for me I have a few blog posts to reflect on to keep my spirits high:
Jen from My Funny Valentine reviews a Korres Milk Cleanser and she just got a Clarisonic Mia (SO JEALOUS!!)
Sabrina reviews the NARS Gloss Pencil and of course I'm obsessing over them.
Elvira has me thinking about giving Clarins a chance or at least revisit their counter to check out this lipstick.
Karen has got me yearning to check out this NEW WORLD by NARS.
Rachael is a bit Distracted but still keeping it pretty.
As for moi...I support a cause!
Happy Sunday and I'll be watching the last 5mns of the Super Bowl drinking beer and scrounging around for more snacks.
GO ACME PACKERS!
